In my industry the question is always, "why become a Realtor?". My answer is pretty simple... I want to help people build wealth through the buying and selling of homes. When Matt and I started our lives together, 23 years ago, we had nothing of tangible value, bad credit, and loads of debt. How would we ever own a home, let alone build wealth in real estate? We lived in an apartment for the first year of our marriage and while renting has its benefits for certain circumstances, it does not offer the longevity of long term wealth building. We knew we wanted more for our young family. So, after that first year we worked on our credit and took the plunge (with the help of some first-time buyer grants, haha) and purchased our first home. It was 1250sqft and cost a whopping $50,000 on Anthony Street in Corpus Christi, TX! It needed a lot of what we call "elbow grease" or "improvements". Although this home was our starting point and not at all what we wanted in a forever home, we knew it was just the launching pad for long term wealth building. We took that starter home; repaired it and sold it for twice what we paid. That profit was put into another home as we slightly upgraded each time... This would be our life for several years. So much goes into the decisions when looking for properties that will yield a good return and that's what I specialize in. Where our real estate journey is nowhere near its end, I am blessed to say recently we moved into our current home that is almost 25x the cost of what we paid for our first home and have investment property as well!
If you are wanting to learn how to build wealth through real estate, I can guide you through that. Everyone has to start somewhere, whether that is renting a home while you rebuild credit, purchasing your first "Anthony Street" home or dipping your toes in the investment market. I am here for you! Always open. Always closing.
